We're gearing up for the 2010 RI festival!

OK....we are officially in full swing, getting ready for our third annual V-Day festival here in Rhode Island. Can you believe it's been three years already??? Our lineup for the festival is really starting to take place...You can check it all out at our website here.

We've just held our first rehearsals for the productions of "The VAGINA Monologues" this year. First production will be on Saturday, March 6th at 1:00PM at the Jane Pickens Theater in beautiful downtown Newport, RI. Second production will be on Saturday, March 13th at 1:00PM at the Providence Renaissance hotel, and will include a dessert buffet with seating at tables of 10. Both events will be funny, poignant, insightful and heartfelt. We're looking forward to sharing more information with everyone about this year's spotlight campaign - the women and girls of the Congo.

We're also in the throes of coordinating all of the vendors and volunteers for our
RED TENT event on March 14th. This is going to be a day where women gather to be pampered in a safe and loving environment. $10 admission at the door, and you'll be able to enjoy things like hair styling, makeup application, facials, manicures, chair massages, belly dancing lessons, yoga classes, kickboxing instruction, henna tattooing, health screenings and information, an international marketplace and of course, the Red Tent. We'll have 45 minute facilitated story telling sessions for women inside the tent in a safe and relaxed environment. It's going to be a spectacular day, so mark it on your calendars and save the date!

A
great excuse to gather the women in your life and celebrate being female - sorry guys, women only! Tickets will be available at the door only. Event runs from 9:00AM - 5:00PM and is the last event of our festival. Well, that's it for now. I'll be updating this often so come back and check it all out.

More events being added each day, and I'll give you an update on each one as we get closer to the opening date. C'mon out and show your support to ending violence against women and girls in Rhode Island. It's fun, and all for a good cause!
